I would love to learn more about the history of this grand old building and it's owners. If someone could point me in the right direction to acquire more history not only about the building but the Johnson family who supposedly built it and lived there.
Regards
Jo

A great shame they had to pull it down, one of the few buildings we had left with any history to it.

Do you have access to the history of Portway Hall? If so I would love to be pointed in the right direction to have access to it.
Regards
Jo

My 3x great grandfather, Daniel and 2x great grandfather William Eagles Johnson lived in Portway Hall. My great grandfather Daniel Ruston Renatus Johnson was born here in 1822. Apparently Portway Hall was built by the Johnson family.
If anyone can give more information, especially during the Johnson era, it would be great to hear about it.
