About Me

Hi my name is Jane. My maiden name was Jane Watson and I used to live in Newhall Road and later in Central Avenue. I used to go to Rowley Hall School in the 1956 and then to Powke Lane Junior School. I then went onto Siviters Lane School, left there in 1967. I remember when I was young playing over the quak, we used to silde down the banks on cardboard. Those were the days carefree and nothing to worry about. Is there anyone out there that remembers those great days. I would love to here from you.

Hi Jane, I don't actually know exactly where the Grocer's shop was (I presume in Rowley village), but my great-grandfather who ran it was called Jesse Howard. If I find out where, I will let you know!

I Mal, nice to hear from you. Is Norman Terrace somewhere off Hanover Road. I used to have friends who lived down there and in Throne Road. Yes Blackheath has changed a lot I went through there the other day and noticed that the Ashley Pub is closed down now. I used to have to fetch my dad out of a lot of these old pubs going as far as Shell Corner. What do you do as a living now as you used to be in the army. I work full time as an office administrator in Netherton. Speak to you soon.
